ROCHESTER, NY -- After a record-setting week, RIT junior midfielder #Shelby Vakiener (Fairport, NY/Fairport)# of the RIT women's lacrosse team was named Liberty League Women's Lacrosse Performer of the Week for the week ending April 1, 2012.

Vakiener had a record-setting performance on Friday as she became the all-time leader in points at RIT, while tying her own record for points in a game with 11. Her 7 goals and 4 assists helped the Tigers to a 20-14 win over Skidmore College on Friday.

The 11 points ties her own record for points in a game. Vakiener now has 178 career points (125-53-178) in just 38 career games. Her second goal of the game 6:37 into the contest gave RIT a 4-1 lead and shattered the career mark of 168 points, held by Eileen Hennigan, who played at RIT from 2007-2010.

She followed that up with five goals and an assist in a 13-12 loss to Rensselaer on Saturday.

Vakiener and the Tigers return to action on Friday, April 6 when the Tigers take on Vassar College in Liberty League action from Poughkeepsie, New York. First draw is at 4 pm.
