WILKES BARRE, PA -- The RIT wrestling team went 2-1 at the Wilkes University Quad on Saturday. The Tigers picked up a 39-13 win over Trinity, a 30-10 win over Gettysburg, before falling to host Wilkes 32-9. The Tigers are 7-7 in dual matches on the season.

#Nick Fuschino (Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) posted a 3-0 record including a pin. (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown)Tyler Brent (Gasport, NY/Royalton-Hartland)#, #Jake Harvey (LeRoy, NY/LeRoy)#, #Sean Sercu (Rochester, NY/Bishop Kearney) and Nick Stewart (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin)# were all 2-1 on the day.

Versus Trinity, Sam Wakabayashi, #Rory Bruce (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda)#, and #Jake Harvey (LeRoy, NY/LeRoy)# each picked up forfeit wins at 125, 133 and 141 lbs. respectively.

Secru picked up a technical fall win at 161 lbs., and #Tory Cain (Ontario, NY/Wayne)# picked up a major decision at 165 lbs.

Fuschino and Brent picked wins at 174 and 184 lbs. respectively. Fuschino picked up a pinfall victory at 6:00.

Harvey, #Adam Hugunine (Rochester, NY/Penfield)#, Secru, Fuschino, Brent, #Tim Thurnau (Nampa, ID/Nampa)# and Stewart were all winners versus Gettysburg. Brent's win at 184 lbs. was by pinfall at 1:23, as was Thurnaus's at 197 lbs.

In the final matche of the day, Nick Fuschino (Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) and Nick Stewart (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) picked up the only RIT wins. Fuschino picked up a 7-5 win, while picked a pinfall victory at 3:23.

RIT returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 1 when they travel to face SUNY Brockport at 7 p.m.
