Men's hockey to celebrate Youth Hockey weekend on Friday and Saturday against Holy Cross

ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's hockey team will host the Holy Cross Crusaders in a pair of exciting Atlantic Hockey Association contests at Ritter Arena on Friday, November 18 and Saturday, November 19, with both games starting at 7:05 p.m.  Both contests are part of RIT's Youth Hockey weekend.  Any youth hockey player in eighth grade or below who wears their jersey to either game gets in free.

Tim Horton's will sponsor Friday and Saturday's contests.

RIT (3-3-2, 2-2-2 AHA) is currently riding a three-game unbeaten streak.  On Friday, the Tigers defeated Air Force, 3-1, behind a pair of goals from Bryan Potts (Niagara Falls, Ontario/Markham Waxers).  Goaltender Shane Madolora (Salinas, CA/) returned to the lineup, making 25 saves to pick up his second win of the season.  Cameron Burt (Detroit, MI/) and Adam Mitchell (Crofton, MD/Baystate Breakers) are tied for the team lead with six points each.  Potts leads the way with four goals, while Madolora is 2-0-1 with a 1.96 goals against average and .930 save percentage.
 
Holy Cross (4-4-0, 3-2-0 AHA) enters this weekend's contests after splitting a pair of games last weekend. On Friday, the Crusaders fell to Massachusetts, 7-2, but rebounded to defeat Sacred Heart, 6-4 on Saturday. Adam Schmidt leads the team in scoring with six goals and nine points, while Fairport native Brandon Nunn is right behind with eight points. In net, Matt Ginn is 3-3 with a 3.62 goals against average and .877 save percentage. The Crusaders are allowing four goals per game.
 
Tickets are available for Friday and Saturday's games at the Gordon Field House and Activities Center Box Office or by phone at (585) 475-4121. Fans can also purchase tickets via ticketmaster.com. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for RIT faculty, staff and alumni and $5 for students with ID. Fans can also buy special reserved seats in Section 100 or 101 for $13 (adults), $11 (faculty/staff/alumni) or $8 (students). Buying a reserved section ticket will guarantee you a seat for the game.

The Tigers have enjoyed tremendous success against the Crusaders, with a 16-1-2 mark against them dating back to the start of the 2006-07 season.   Currently, RIT has an eight-game unbeaten streak against Holy Cross (6-0-2).  Last season, RIT went 1-0-1 against Holy Cross, winning 4-0 and tying 3-3 in Worcester.  Overall, RIT is 20-6-2 all-time against the Crusaders.

Friday and Saturday's games will be aired live on Time Warner Cable Sports channel 26 or 1026 for high definition subscribers, with Gene Battaglia and John Ditullio bringing you the action. In addition, the game will be broadcast over the airwaves on WITR 89.7 FM and witr.rit.edu.  There will also be live stats.
