WILKES-BARRE, PA - The RIT wrestling team (4-10) finished 1-2 at the Wilkes University Quad Meet on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers defeated Gettysburg by a score of 28-18, but fell to Trinity, 28-20, and host Wilkes, 43-3.

Mike McInally (Bergen, NY/Byron-Bergen)# won all three of his matches at 133 lbs. on Sunday afternoon to improve to 24-2 this season. He opened the afternoon with a technical fall win over Scott Gonzales of Trinity, then scored RIT's only points against Wilkes, with a 7-0 win over Seth Bartlett. He ended the afternoon with a 10-0 major decision win over Matt Spano of Gettysburg.

Sean Sercu (Rochester, NY/Bishop Kearney) and
Brandon Thuotte (Danielson, CT/Pomfret Prep)# each earned a pair of wins. Sercu defeated Joe Fiore of Gettysburg, 4-0 at 157 lbs. and Kyle Muir of Trinity, 7-5. Thoute, wrestling at 141 lbs., earned a pin over Jeremy Rees of Trinity, then defeated Dan Traficanti of Gettysburg, 7-2.

Tyler Brent (Gasport, NY/Royalton-Hartland)# recorded a pin at 174 lbs. against Gettysburg. Shin Wakabayshi recorded two wins via forfeit, while #
Greg Jones (Weare, NH/John Stark)# enjoyed a win by forfeit as well.
RIT returns to action on Wednesday,with a home match against SUNY Brockport that gets underway at 7 p.m.
