BUFFALO, NY -
The No. 1 RIT women's hockey team (18-0-2, 11-0-2 ECAC West) extended its season-long unbeaten streak to 20 games after defeating Buffalo State College (7-10-0, 3-8-0 ECAC West) 4-1 at Buffalo State Ice Arena on Friday afternoon.

Four different players scored for RIT.  #Katie Stack (Batavia, NY/Rochester Edge)#, #Traci Judge (Pittsburgh, PA/Mountour)#, #Tenecia Hiller (Brampton, Ontario/Brampton Thunder)#, and #Kourtney Kunichika (Fullerton, CA/LA Selects)# scored goals.  Judge's goal was the first of her collegiate career and turned out to be the game-winner.

RIT out-shot Buffalo State, 40-14.  Kunichika tallied a goal and an assist to lead the way offensively for the Tigers.

Bri Murphy scored a power-play goal for Buffalo State, just 31 seconds into the second period to spoil the shutout.  RIT had killed off 39 consecutive power-plays before the goal.

The Tigers were 1-for-4 with the man-advantage, while Buffalo State was 1-for-9.

Freshman goaltender #Laura Chamberlain (Norco, CA/LA Selects)# picked up her 12th win of the season, stopping 13 shots.

Buffalo State goaltender Alyssa Koniar, who played one season at RIT before transferring, played well against her former teammates, stopping 36 shots.

Stack opened the scoring at the 11:39 mark of the first period, just as a Buffalo State penalty ended.  #Ariane Yokoyama (Van Nuys, CA/LA Selects)# and Galbraith played catch at the blue-line, with Galbraith firing a shot that Koniar steered behind the net.  Kunichika jumped on the loose puck and fed Stack, who was all alone in front to bury her 14th goal of the season and 75th of her illustrious career.

Judge gave RIT a 2-0 lead at the 17:09 mark, stealing a pass inside the Bengals zone, walking in and ripping a strong wrist shot over the glove of Koniar and just under the crossbar for her first collegiate goal.

After Murphy scored for the Bengals to make it a one-goal game, Hiller potted her eighth goal of the season, on the power-play at the 6:19 mark of the second period, completing a nice three-way passing play.  #Ariane Yokoyama (Van Nuys, CA/LA Selects) fed Sarah Dagg (St. George, Ontario/Hamilton Hawks)# down low, who fired a pass across to crease to Hiller, who made no mistake, slamming the puck into the open side.

Kunichika completed the scoring late in the final period, scoring a shorthanded goal.  She broke in on a 2-on-1 and was able to beat Koniar for her fifth goal of the season.

The Tigers allowed less than two goals for the 16th time this season.  They are out-scoring foes 116-17 in 20 games.

RIT Head Coach #Scott McDonald# picked up his 99th career victory.  He is currently 99-18-9 in five seasons.  If he wins on Saturday, he will achieve 100 wins in 127 games, second fastest all-time at the Division III level.

The same two teams return to action on Saturday, once againat at 4 p.m. at Buffalo State Ice Arena.
