Men's hockey returns home for pair of conference games against Bentley this weekend

Tigers lead the AHA standings by six points.

ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT men's hockey team returns to the friendly confines of Ritter Arena for a pair of Atlantic Hockey Association contests against Bentley this weekend. Both Friday and Saturday's contests begin at 7:05 p.m. RIT leads the AHA standings with 22 points, six ahead of Robert Morris and Niagara.

Bugaboo Creek Steak House and Locker Room Sports are sponsoring Friday's game, while M&T Bank is Saturday's sponsor.

RIT (11-8-3, 10-3-2 AHA) enters this weekend's games riding a six-game unbeaten streak in conference play (5-0-1). They also put their 11-game home-unbeaten streak against AHA foes on the line as well. Last weekend, the Tigers earned three points at Army, playing to a 1-1 draw on Friday, and winning 5-2 on Saturday. Goaltender Shane Madolora (Salinas, CA/) was named the AHA Goaltender of the Week after stopping 84 shots in two games, including a career-best 46 on Saturday. Tyler Brenner (Linwood, Ontario/) scored once and added an assist in Saturday's win. He is tied for second nationally with 16 goals.

Bentley (5-10-3, 4-7-2 AHA) comes into the weekend looking to snap seven-game winless streak (0-5-2). On Tuesday, Dustin Cloutier scored with 1:10 left in regulation to lift the Falcons to a 1-1 tie at American International. Senior Erik Peterson leads the team in scoring with 13 points (6-7-13) in 15 games this season. Brett Gensler is tied for the team lead with six goals, while Dustin Cloutier and Jamie Nudy have seven assists. Senior goaltender Joe Calvi has played the majority of games in net this season, and is 4-6-1 with a 2.62 goals against average, and .921 save percentage. Kyle Rank stopped 35 shots on Tuesday and has a 2.72 goals against average and .927 save percentage in five contests.

Bentley was the last team conference opponent to defeat at Ritter Arena, winning 5-4 on Jan. 30, 2010. RIT leads the all-time series between the two teams, 10-4-1. RIT was 1-1 against Bentley last year, winning 4-1 and losing 5-4. RIT is 8-3-1 against Bentley since the 2006-07 season.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for RIT faculty, staff and alumni and $5 for students with ID. Fans can also buy special reserved seats in Section 100 or 101 for $12 (adults), $10 (faculty/staff/alumni) or $7 (students). Buying a reserved section ticket will guarantee you a seat for the game.

Both Friday and Saturday's game swill be aired live on Time Warner Cable Sports channel 26, with Gene Battaglia and John DiTullio bringing you the action.
