UTICA, NY - The RIT women's tennis team (5-2, 4-0 Empire 8) picked up its fourth straight Empire 8 conference win, and completed a weekend sweep, rolling past Hartwick (2-3, 2-3 Empire 8) 8-1 on Sunday afternoon at RIT Courts.
Senior
Amanda Berg (Mendham, NJ/Mendham) picked up her seventh straight singles win to start the season, rolling to a 6-0, 6-1 win at first singles.
Maite Vera (Santa Cruz, Bolivia/Mayor San Loranzo) was an easy 6-1, 6-1 winner at second singles.
Brooke Brindle (Longmeadow, MA/Longmeadow) won 6-0, 6-1 at fourth singles.
Marie Revekant (Pittsford, NY/East Rochester) and
Lindsey Gibson (Glastonbury, CT/Mercy) tallied wins to complete singles play.
Berg and Vera teammed up for an 8-1 win at first doubles, improving to 6-1 this season. Bjork and Revekant were victorious at second doubles, 8-4, while Gibson and Brindle earned an 8-6 win at third doubles.
RIT is back in action this weekend at the ITA Championships in Geneva, N.Y.
