ELMIRA, NY -- The RIT women's basketball team defeated Elmira College 63-59 in Empire 8 action on Friday night. #Brianna O'Dell (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenedehowa) led RIT with 21 points. (Fayetteville, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius)Leslie Havens (Wayland, NY/Wayland-Cohocton) added 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds. (Fayetteville, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius)Sharon Dennis (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool)# had 15 rebounds and six blocks.

With her six blocks Dennis now has 88 on the season breaking her own school record for blocks in a season which she set last season with 85.

The Tigers trailed by seven at the half, but stormed back with a strong second half, out-scoring the Soaring Eagles 38-27.

RIT shot 32.3 percent from the floor on 20-of-62 shooting. The Tigers were 6-of-22 from three-point land led by O'Dell who had four three pointers. The Tigers were 17-of-21 from the free throw line and out-rebounded Elmira 47-45.

RIT, who moves to 10-11 on the season, will host Utica College on Saturday, February 13. Tip-off at Clark Gymnasium is as at 2 pm.
