Women's soccer falls to William Smith

ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (9-5-3) women's soccer team closed out the regular season with a 2-0 loss to William Smith College (13-2-2) in non-conference action on Saturday.

Brelynn Nasypany  and Jamie Sawyer combined for both William Smith goals. Sawyer assisted on the games first goal scored by Nasypany  in the 14th minute.

Nasypany returned the favor in the 51st minute, assisting on Sawyer's goal to give the Herons a 2-0 lead.

RIT was out shot 13-3. The Tigers had one shot on goal for the game. The Herons took 11 corner kicks to none for the Tigers. Ashley Valenti (Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) took the loss allowing two goals and making six saves for RIT. Amanda Davis picked up the win, making one save.

The Tigers return to action next Saturday in the Empire 8 Tournament. Fourth-seeded RIT will face top-seeded Nazareth College at 11 am in Pittsford, New York.
