PLATTSBURGH, NY - Despite scoring twice in a span of 1:07 late in the third period, the No. 4 RIT women's hockey (10-3-3, 5-2-2 ECAC West) could not get past No. 3 SUNY Plattsburgh, (11-1-1, 9-0-1 ECAC West) falling to the Cardinals, 4-3 at Stafford Ice Arena on Friday.

Missy Hall (Chesterland, OH/Gilmour Academy) took a feed from (Tinley Park, IL)Arianne Yokoyama# and scored with 1:22 left to make the score 4-2 Cardinals. The goal was Hall's eighth of the season.

Katie Stack (Batavia, NY/Rochester Edge)# tallied her 17th goal of the season with 15 seconds left on a power-play to complete the scoring.
After a scoreless first period, Stephanie Moberg and Megan DiJulio scored second period goals to give the Cardinals 2-0 lead. #
Traci Galbraith (Oakville, Ontario/Burlington Jr. Barracudas)# answered back on the power-play with her second goal of the season to make the score 2-1.
RIT out-shot Plattsburgh, 35-24. Mandy Mackrell made 32 saves to pick up the win. Torgerson suffered her first collegiate loss, stopping 18 shots. She is now 11-1-2 all-time. King played the final 16:46 and stopped two shots.
Both teams scored two power-play goals. RIT was 2-for-7, while Plattsburgh was 2-for-5. Hall led RIT with a goal and an assist.
The Tigers have never been swept in a weekend since joining the ECAC West conference in 2007. RIT is now 2-7-0 all-time against the Cardinals.
The same two teams finish their weekend series on Saturday at 3 p.m.
