Women's tennis falls to Stevens in Empire 8 semifinal; Tigers finish 7-6

ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT women's tennis team had its fall season end, as they lost to Stevens, 7-2 in an Empire 8 semifinal match at RIT Courts on Saturday afternoon. RIT was seeded third, while Stevens was seeded second. The Tigers finish the 2009 season with a 7-6 record.

The first doubles team of junior Amanda Berg (Mendham, NJ/Mendham) and senior Alexis Stanley (Vestal, NY/Vestal) posted an 8-6 win. The duo finishes the season with a 12-4 record.

Berg improved to 14-4 this season at first singles, after defeating Allyson Kingman, 6-0, 6-2. Berg now has 29 wins in two seasons at RIT.

Ithaca defeated Nazareth, 9-0 in the other semifinal.
