ROCHESTER, NY – Ithaca senior Chelsea Feldman recorded her second straight hat-trick, leading the Bombers (3-1-1, 1-0-0 Empire 8) to a 4-1 win over the RIT women's soccer team (3-3-1, 1-1-0 Empire 8) on Saturday. RIT had its three-game winning streak snapped.

Feldman got the Bombers on the board just 2:07 in, as she took a one-touch pass from Winnie Adrien inside the RIT penalty area and re-directed the pass through the legs of RIT goalkeeper Ashley Conti (Canfield, OH/Canfield) (Canfield, OH/Canfield).

Amy Scheffer made the score 2-0 in the 15th minute, as her long shot from the left-side eluded Conti and slid perfectly into the right corner of the goal.

Ithaca dominated play over the first 20 minutes, but the Tigers rebounded to take the edge in play over the final 25 minutes of the half, creating a handful of scoring chances. RIT out-shot Ithaca, 7-6 in the first half.

The Bombers added to their lead in the 58th minute, when Feldman picked up a loose ball in the box and blasted a shot past Conti for her second tally of the day and fifth of the season.

Kendra Shelters (Lyons, NY/Lyons) (Lyons, NY/Lyons)
got the Tigers on the board 74th minute, when she blasted a long shot from 30-yards out that Ithaca goalkeeper Alyssa Sotomayor snagged with a leap, but her momentum carried herself and the ball over the goal line.

Emily Traversi (Acton, MA/Acton-Boxborough) (Acton, MA/Acton-Boxborough)
nearly cut the Bomber lead to one, moments later, as she had a great chance inside the penalty area after receiving a great feed from Erica Main (Chittenango, NY/Chittenango) (Chittenango, NY/Chittenango). Traversi's shot just curved wide of the net from 13-yards out.

Sophomore Monica Cook (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) saved a goal with six minutes left, scooping Feldman's attempt at a hat-trick off the goal line after Conti punched a corner kick attempt away.

Feldman completed the hat-trick with 3:03 remaining, as she took advantage of a miscommunication in the RIT backfield and scooped a loose ball just outside the box with a wide open net in front of her. Feldman made no mistake, scoring her sixth goal in the last two contests.

Ithaca out-shot RIT 20-14 overall. Conti stopped seven shots in defeat for RIT. Sotomayor made three saves for the Bombers. Ithaca had 10 corner kicks to RIT's one.

The Tigers are back in action on Tuesday, as they travel down East River Rd. to face nationally-ranked University of Rochester in a non-conference contest starting at 7 p.m.
