PITTSBURGH, PA -
The RIT volleyball team (7-10) finished 0-4 at the Carnegie Mellon Crossover Tournament after losing a pair of matches on Saturday.  The Tigers opened the evening by falling to Muskingum in three sets, 25-20, 25-20, 25-16.  RIT then dropped a heartbreaker to John Carroll Otterbein in five games, 25-16, 18-25, 28-30, 28-26, 15-9.

In the opener against Muskingum, senior Heidi Little (Glenville, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) (Glenville, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) recorded a team-high 12 kills.  Nichole Boxler (Varysburg, NY/Attica) (Varysburg, NY/Attica) led the way with 26 assists, while freshman Megan Henriksen (Silver Spring, MD/Our Lady of Good Counsel) (Silver Spring, MD/Our Lady of Good Counsel) recorded 19 digs.  Kate Gleason (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) compiled 11 digs and two service aces, while Laura Mooney (Petaluma, CA/Petaluma) (Petaluma, CA/Petaluma) slammed eight kills. 

Junior middle hitter Vic Petko (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) slammed 21 kills to go along with five blocks in the loss to John Carroll.  Junior Ashlie Baker (Northridge, UT/Northridge) (Northridge, UT/Northridge) posted season-best totals of 19 kills and 19 digs.  Henriksen compiled a season-high 28 digs.  Boxler dished out a season-best 51 assists.  Mooney, Little and Gleason recorded nine, eight and seven kills, respectively.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday and Sunday in Empire 8 crossover action at Stevens.  RIT opens play against Stevens at 12 p.m. Saturday.
