CANTON, NY -- The RIT men's soccer team dropped their third straight game to a Liberty League opponent, losing to St. Lawrence University 3-0 on a rainy afternoon in Canton, New York. The loss drops RIT to 1-3-0 on the season, while St. Lawrence improves to 3-2-0 on the year.
The Saints took a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute on a goal off a St. Lawrence corner-kick. James Steward scored on the corner from Paul LaMarca.
St. Lawrence struck twice in the second half in the 51st and 62nd minutes to make it 3-0 Saints. Emmanuel Mbong and Dan Marvin each tallied for St. Lawrence who out-shot the Tigers 24-7.
The Tigers managed three shots on goal, two coming from sophomore forward
Gonzi Ciurlizza (McLean, VA/St. John's Collegiate) (McLean, VA/St. John's Collegiate).
Alan Smith (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) stopped nine of the 12 shots he faced on the day, allowing three goals.
RIT will look to break into the win column on Saturday when they face Clarkson University at 2 pm in Potsdam, New York.
