Men's Lacrosse Falls at Union

The RIT men's lacrosse team allowed five fourth-quarter goals en route to an 8-3 loss at Union College on Saturdy afternoon. It was the second loss in a row for the 14th ranked Tigers.

The teams were tied 3-3 after the third quarter, but the Dutchmen put the game away with five goals all coming in the final 7:21.

After a scoreless first quarter, Jacobson opened the scoring with an unassisted score 5:33 into the second quarter. The Tigers got consecutive goals by Sean Gillies (Oakville, ON/Albany Academy) (Oakville, ON/Albany Academy) with 2:25 left in the half, then with 7:02 remaining in the third for their lone lead, 2-1.

After Union took a 3-2 lead the Tigers tied it at 3-3 with 23 seconds left in the third on Chris Ferry (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder)'s (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) fourth goal of the season.

RIT out-shot Union 30-24 on the day, but lost the groundball battle, 48-33. Each team won seven face offs and the Tigers converted one of five man up opportunities.

The Dutchmen killed off four of the five RIT man ups, and both in the fourth period. Union converted 76% of the clear attempts while RIT was successful 75% of the time.

Tiger goalie Brad Conlon (Ottawa, ON/Bridgton Academy) (Ottawa, ON/Bridgeton Academy) took the loss stopping six shots.
