ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's lacrosse team (3-3) had its two-game winning snapped on Wednesday, as the #3 SUNY Cortland Red Dragons (4-0) defeated the Tigers by a score of 17-7 on a cold, rainy and dreary day at the RIT Turf Field.

SUNY Cortland came right out and dictated the tempo, scoring six of the first seven goals.  The Red Dragons led 7-2 at halftime.  After a RIT goal by Dan Rago (Geneva, NY/Geneva) to cut the lead to 7-3, the Red Dragons put the game away, scoring the next five goals to take a 12-3 lead.

SUNY Cortland out-shot RIT 43-38 and had 52 ground balls to RIT's 43.  RIT won the battle of the face-offs, with 14 victories in 27 attempts.

Many of RIT's shots came from outside of 15 feet, while SUNY Cortland pounded the RIT net with countless opportunities from in close.
