ROCHESTER, NY -- The #6 RIT women's hockey team improved to 3-0-0 with an 8-2 win over Neumann College (0-2-0, 0-2-0 ECAC West) on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers won despite racking up 41 minutes in penalties. RIT scored two short-handed goals as
Sarah Dagg (St. George, Ontario/Hamilton Hawks) led the way with two goals and an assist.

#Dayna Birch (Abbotsford, British Columbia/Pacific Steelers)# (Abbotsford, BC) tallied a short-handed goal on an assist from
#Missy Hall (Chesterland, OH/Gilmour Academy)# (Chesterland, OH).
#Keltie Jones (Burlington, Ontario/Burlington Jr. Barracudas)# (Burlington, ON) made it 2-0 RIT with an even-strength goal at 11:13 of the first. She scored on assists from
#Sarah Dagg (St. George, Ontario/Hamilton Hawks)# (St. George, ON) and
Alli Hills (Honeoye Falls, NY).
#Erica Owczarczak (West Seneca, NY/Buffalo Bisons)# (West Seneca, NY) scored the first of two straight power play goals for the Tigers. She scored on an assist from Hall at 12:26 of the first, making it 3-0 RIT.
#Amanda Klassen (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Warner Warriors)# (Winnipeg, MB) made it 4-0 Tigers at 13:17 of the first with a power play goal on an assist from Jones.
Neumann's Robyn Armstrong tallied a late power play goal to cut RIT's lead to 4-1.
The second period was marked by penalties. Both teams combined to rack up 24 minutes in penalties in the second. The Tigers had 14 of the 24 minutes but held Neumann scoreless on all four of their power plays.
Katie Stack (Batavia, NY/Rochester Edge) (Batavia, NY), Dagg and Birch each scored for the Tigers in the second to extend their lead to 6-1. Stack scored an unassisted goal at 13:44 of the second to make it 4-1.
Dagg scored her first of the game on an assist from Hills at 14:01 of the second, making it 5-1 RIT. Birch scored on an assist from
Jamie Parhar (Calgary, Alberta) at 18:44 giving RIT a 6-1 advantage.
Dagg rounded out the scoring for RIT with her second tally of the game at 7:13 of the third for an 8-1 RIT lead.
Brittany Metcalfe added a late goal for the Knights to make it an 8-2 final.
#Amy Torgerson (Owatonna, MN/Gilmour Academy)# (Wentzville, MO) made her first collegiate start on Saturday, picking up her first career win. She made 23 saves and allowed two goals.
RIT went 2-for-10 with the man advantage but managed to score two short-handed goals. The Tigers stopped Neumann 13-of-15 times on the power play.
The Tigers will play at #2 Elmira College next weekend. Friday's game begins at 7 pm and Saturday's starts at 2 pm.
