Women's Swimming and Diving Loses to LeMoyne

ROCHESTER, NY --
The RIT women's swimming and diving squad fell to LeMoyne College, 157-117 at the Judson Pool on Saturday afternoon.  RIT had four athletes win seven events, plus two relays.

Kristen Curtze (Edinboro, PA/General McLane) (Edinboro, PA/General McLane) won three single events, while Caitlyn Burr (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy) (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy) won twice.  Coleen Davis (West Wyoming, PA/Wyoming Area) (West Wyoming, PA/Wyoming Area) and Cat Jones (Eden, NY/Eden) (Eden, NY/Eden) each won a single event to lead the way.

Curtze finished first in the 50-yard freestyle (25.36), and in the 100-yard freestyle (55.43) and 200-freestyle (2:01.21). 

Burr took first place in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:14.44 by nearly five seconds.  She also won the 100-backstroke in 1:02:10.

Davis won the 200-yard individual medley over Ellen McCooe (Windsor, CT/Windsor) (Windsor, CT/Windsor) by one-hundredth of a second in 2:32.72.

Diver Cat Jones (Eden, NY/Eden) (Eden, NY/Eden) was second in the 1-meter, but won the 3-meter diving event.  She scored 174.35 in the 1-meter and took the 3-meter in 191.55.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Burr, Curtze, Angie Palomaki (Victor, NY/Victor) (Victor, NY/Victor) and Kurt O'Neill (Hamburg, NY/Mount Mercy Academy) (Hamburg, NY/Mt. Mercy Academy) won in 3:51.51.

The Tigers are back in action on Tuesday, as they travel to play SUNY Brockport in a dual meet, beginning at 6 p.m.
