Women's Swimming and Diving Loses Dual Meet Against SUNY Geneseo

ROCHESTER, NY --
The RIT women's swimming and diving fell to undefeated SUNY Geneseo, 159-113 on Saturday afternoon at the Judson Pool.  RIT had four athletes win seven events on the day.

Caitlyn Burr (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy) (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy) won three events on the day, while diver Cat Jones (Eden, NY/Eden) (Eden, NY/Eden) won twice.  Kristen Curtze (Edinboro, PA/General McLane) (Edinboro, PA/General McLane),  and Ellen McCooe (Windsor, CT/Windsor) (Windsor, CT/Windsor) also won single events to lead the way.

Burr took first place in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.61, 100-yard butterfly in :59.75 and 200-yard individual medley in 2:11.84.

Jones won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving with scores of 189.90 and 184.80, respectively.

Curtze finished first in the 50-yard freestyle in :25.31 and was second in the 100-yard freestyle in :55.13.

McCooe annexed the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:47.80.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Burr, Curtze, Angie Palomaki (Victor, NY/Victor) (Victor, NY/Victor) and Kurt O'Neill (Hamburg, NY/Mount Mercy Academy) (Hamburg, NY/Mount Mercy Academy) won in 1:43.30.

The Tigers are back in action on Wednesday, as they travel to William Smith College at 6 p.m.
