ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's swimming and diving fell to undefeated SUNY Geneseo, 156-136 on Saturday afternoon at the Judson Pool. Senior Quinn Donahoe (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) broke his own school record in the 3-meter diving for the second straight week, as the Tigers won six single events.
Donahoe, a four-time All-American, won both the 1- and 3-meter diving events. He won the 1-meter event in 281.95 and took the 3-meter in 330.95, a new school record, besting his score of 321.75, set a week ago at Utica. Senior Matt Joseph (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland), a 2007 All-American, was second to Donahoe in both events.
Steve Rois (Amherst, NY/Amherst) (Amherst, NY/Amherst) won both the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyle events. He annexed the 500-freestyle in 4:58.03 and took the 1,000-freestyle in 10:20.66.
Sophomore Jeff Kaemmerlen (Fairport, NY/Fairport) (Fairport, NY/Fairport) won the 100-yard backstroke in :55.24, while Phil Baudoin (Blacksburg, VA/Blacksburg) (Blacksburg, VA/Blacksburg) took the 200-yard individual medley in 2:07.19
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Kaemmerlen, Baudoin, Casey Schneider (Grandville, MI/Grandville) (Grandville, Mi/Grandville) and Scott Hesterberg (Wasilla, AK/Colony) (Wasilla, AK/Colony) won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:43.30.
The Tigers are back in action on Wednesday at Hobart College, beginning at 6 p.m.
