Women's Tennis Moves to 2-1 With Win Over SUNY Brockport

BROCKPORT, NY —
The RIT women's tennis team moved to 2-1 in 2007, winning the final three singles matches to upend SUNY Brockport 6-3 on Wednesday afternoon.

Senior Leigh Bryson (Wallingford, CT/Mark T. Sheehan) (Wallingford, CT/Mark T. Sheehan), Ashley Oliver (State College, PA/State College Area) (State College, PA/State College Area) and Sara Paduano (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) all moved to 3-0 on the year with wins at fourth, fifth and sixth singles, respectively.

Paduano teammed with Joanna Cash (Rochester, NY/Brighton) (Rochester, NY/Brighton) to earn a victory at second doubles, while Bryson partnered with Alexis Stanley (Vestal, NY/Vestal) (Vestal, NY/Vestal), getting the win at third doubles.  Bryson and Stanley are 3-0 at third doubles this season.

Stanley also picked up the win at second singles, 6-7, 7-5, 6-1.

The Tigers are back in action on Sunday, as they host Empire 8 rival Hartwick in the first home match of the season.
