Volleyball Loses Pair of Matches at Nazareth Invitational

PITTSFORD, NY -
The RIT volleyball team (14-6, 3-1 Empire 8) lost a pair of tough matches at the Nazareth Invitational on Friday evening.  The Tigers fell to Williams 30-26, 21-30, 16-30, 21-30 in the opening match and lost to the hosts 25-30, 30-27, 30-28, 20-30, 11-15 in the nightcap.

Jessica Schaffer (Wellington, OH/Keystone) (Wellington, OH/Keystone) led RIT with 14 digs and 13 kills in the loss to Williams.  Nichole Boxler (Varysburg, NY/Attica) (Varysburg, NY/Attica) had 40 assists.

In the loss to Nazareth, Boxler recorded 36 assists, while Schaffer had 20 digs and 15 kills.  Victoria Petko (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) picked up 10 blocks and Kate Gleason (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) (Frontier, NY/Hamburg) drilled four service aces.

The Tigers are right back in action on Saturday at Nazareth, as they face Scranton at 2 p.m. and SUNY Cortland at 4 p.m.
