ROCHESTER, NY --
For the second straight afternoon, the RIT baseball team split a double-header with Ithaca College on Sunday.  The Tigers won game one 4-1, but fell to the Bombers in game two, 11-5. RIT is now 21-10 (7-5 Empire 8), while Ithaca is now 24-11 (9-3 Empire 8) on the season.

In game one, the Tiger offense erupted for all four of their runs in the bottom of the second inning.

After Brian Lindenau (Tucson, AZ/Sabino) (Tucson, AZ/Sabino) reached on an error, Andrew Larsen (Seattle, WA/Roosevelt) (Seattle, WA/Roosevelt) doubled to score Lindenau.  Ryan Campbell (Brockport, NY/Brockport) (Brockport, NY/Brockport) singled home a run to give RIT a 2-0 lead.  With two outs, Geoff Dornes (Landsville, PA/Hempfield) (Landsville, PA/Hempfield) hit a two-run single to put the Tigers up 4-0.

Larsen was 2 for 3 with a run scored and RBI.

Chris Miller (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) (Rochester, NY/Rush Henrietta) improved to 4-4 in 2007, as he scattered seven hits and allowed just one earned run in 5 1/3 innings.  Cory Langtry (Moravia, NY/Moravia) (Moravia, NY/Moravia) got the final five outs to pick up his second save of the year.

The Ithaca bats came alive in game two, ripping 15 hits and jumping out to leads of 6-0 and 8-1.

Eric Ferguson had three hits, while Rob Raux was 2 for 5 with a home run, three runs scored and three RBI.  Josh Smith had three RBI and two hits, while Jared Roth and Jason Friedman had two hits apiece.

Shane Wolf picked up the win on the mound for Ithaca.

Dornes took the loss on the mound for RIT, but had three more hits, giving him 52 in 2007 and a sparkling .491 batting average.  He needs just seven more hits to break the Tiger single-season record, set just last season by current Tiger assistant coach Colin Bradley (Barre, VT/Spaulding).

Lindenau and Ryan Tryt (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) had two hits apiece for the Tigers.  Sophomore outfielder Anthony Culotta (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) recorded two RBI, scored a run and stole a base.

The Tigers will now await  a possible ECAC Upstate Tournament bid.  The tournament will be held from May 11-13.
