ELMIRA, NY - The RIT men's tennis team improved to 3-3 in 2007 after shutting out Empire 8 foe Elmira College 9-0 at the Murray Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon. 

The Tigers won all of thiers doubles and singles matches for the first shut out of the season.  The match started out with singles wins from sophmore, Han Chong (Penang, Malaysia/Penang Free School) (Penang, Malaysia/Penang Free School), John Traver (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendahowa) (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendahowa), and freshman Gean Yip (Palo Alto, CA/Gunn) (Palo Alto, CA/Gunn). The tigers kept the winning streak going in the four, fifth, and sixth singles matches.

The doubles teams clinched the victory for the Tigers. Han Chong (Penang, Malaysia/Penang Free School) (Penang, Malaysia/Penang Free School) and Yip defeated their opponents 8-3 and the second doubles team of Fountain and Schember won 8-3.

The Tigers travel to SUNY Oswego on Friday to play the Lakers at 4 pm.
