Rochester, NY - The fourth seeded RIT men’s tennis team lost to third seeded Ithaca College in the finals of the Empire 8 Championships. The Tigers lost 6-3 and their record is now 6-5 (4-4 Empire 8’s).

The only doubles win for the Tigers came from first doubles team of Jose Guzman (Guatemala/Collegio Valle Verde) (Guatemala/Collegio Valle Verde) and Brennan Dugas (East Falmouth, MA/Falmouth) (East Falmouth, MA/Falmouth). The team defeated Colin Flynn and Joe Young 9-8 and 7-3 in the tiebreaker. In singles, John Traver (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendahowa) (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendahowa) and Joe Schember (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) (Erie, Pa/Mercyhurst Prep) added two more points at fifth and sixth, respectively.

The Tigers travel to Hartwick on April 28th to play the Hawks at 1pm.
