Men's Hockey Loses Final Game to Bentley

Brad Harris scored the final goal of the season in his final game as a Tiger.

A night after they had clinched the Atlantic Hockey Association regular season title the RIT men's hockey team fell to Bentley 7-6. Junior Simon Lambert (Ste.-Therese, PQ/Cumberland Grads) (Ste.-Therese, PQ) had a goal and two assists giving him 101 career points. The Tigers finish the 2006-07 season with a 21-11-2 record.

RIT trailed 4-2 heading into the third period. The Tigers fought back, tying the score on a power play goal from Al Mazur (Burnaby, BC/Langley Hornets) (Burnaby, BC) at 5:34 of the third period. Steve Pinizzotto (Mississauga, ON/Oakville Blades) (Mississauga, ON) and Simon Lambert (Ste.-Therese, PQ/Cumberland Grads) had the assists on the play.

The Tigers took their first lead at 8:24 of the third on a short-handed tally from Rob Tarantino (Oakville, ON/Oakville Blades) (Oakville, ON). Lambert picked up his second assist of the night on the play.

RIT's senior class combined to scor the final goal of the season with 1:06 to play. Brad Harris (Winnipeg, MB/Leamington Flyers) (Winnipeg, MB) got the goal on assists from Tristan Fairbarn (Innisfill, ON/Newmarket Hurricanes) (Innisfil, ON) and Tarantino.

Lambert finshed with a goal and two assists. Anton Kharin (Moscow, Russia/Bay State Breakers) (Twin Lake, MI) had a pair of goals. Jared DeMichiel (Avon, CT/Chicago Steel) (Avon, CT) got the start in goal for RIT. The freshman netminder made 26 saves, allowing seven goals.
