CANTON, NY -- The RIT men's swimming and diving team (3-1) picked up its third consecutive dual win of the 2007-08 season, defeating St. Lawrence by a score of 167-70 on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers won eight single events and both relays.
Senior diver
Quinn Donahoe (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) broke two St. Lawrence Pool records on the day. His score of 300.00 in the 1-meter event was 300.00, beating the previous record of 288.00 dating back to 1987. His score of 319.27 in the 3-meters was 319.27, beating the previous record of 307.35 record, posted in 1985. He just missed breaking his own school record in the 3-meter by under a point (320.05 is the school record).
Junior Phil Baudoin (Blacksburg, VA/Blacksburg) (Blacksburg, VA/Blacksburg) won both the 200-yard individual medley in 2:06.74 and the 500-freestyle by 16 seconds in 5:00.60.
Sophomore Jeff Kaemmerlen (Fairport, NY/Fairport) (Fairport, NY/Fairport) won the 200-yard backstroke by four seconds n 2:04.19 and was second in the 50-yard freestyle in 22.29 seconds.
Senior Phil Nau (Jersey Shore, PA/Jersey Shore Area) (Jersey Shore, PA/Jersey Shore Area) took the 100-yard butterfly in 57.35 seconds.
Steve Rois (Amherst, NY/Amherst) (Amherst, NY/Amherst) won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:52.15.
Steve Berus (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville North) won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:22.95.
Adam Luptak (Idaho Falls, ID/Skyline) (Idaho Falls, ID/Skyline) won the 200-yard butterfly by four seconds in 2:03.19.
The team of Kaemmerlen, Casey Schneider (Grandville, MI/Grandville) (Grandville, MI/Grandville), Brian Duffy (Clarence, NY/Clarence) (Clarence, NY/Clarence) and John Hessler (Ellsworth, ME/Ellsworth) won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:29.00.
Ryan Marchant (Norwich, NY/Norwich) (Norwich, NY/Norwich), Phil Nau (Jersey Shore, PA/Jersey Shore Area) (Jersey Shore, PA/Jersey Shore), Berus and Duffy won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:45.83.
The Tigers are back in action on Friday, November 30, as they host the Don Richards Memorial Tournament.
