ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT women's soccer team tied Utica College, 1-1 on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers are now 6-4-2 overall and 1-2-1 in the Empire 8. Utica moves to 7-2-1 overall and 4-0-1 in the Empire 8.
Allyson Pisher (Holley, NY/Holley)'s (Holley, NY) goal in the 34th minute gave RIT a 1-0 halftime lead versus Utica College.
Pisher scored off a scrum on a corner kick by the Tigers. The ball came to her in the penalty area and she found a hole in the lower right corner, givng the Tigers a 1-0 lead at the half.
The Pioneers tied the score at 1-1 in the second half. Kristen Vasta ripped a shot from outside the penalty area that arched over the out-stretched arms of
Ashley Conti (Canfield, OH/Canfield) (Canfield, OH).
Utica held the advantage on shots 16-12, while RIT had the advantage on corner kicks, 6-4. Conti made a handful of big saves for the Tigers, finishing with 10. Ashley Kaufman made six saves for the Pioneers.
RIT will host William Smith College on Saturday, October 13 at 3 pm.
