Men's Soccer Falls to Utica

UTICA, NY -- The RIT men's soccer team was defeated by Utica College on Saturday afternoon in Utica, New York. The loss drops RIT to 7-4-1 overall and 2-1-0 in the Empire 8.

The Pioneers took a 1-0 lead in the 56th minute on a goal by Nick Callahan.

RIT was able to tie the score on a goal by Daniel Holowaty (Strongsville, OH/St. Ignatious) (Strongville, OH). Allen Nicholson (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg) (Lewisburg, PA) picked up the assist chipping the ball over the goalkeepers head that Holowaty out away for his third goal of the season.

Utica scored the game-winner in the 81st minute on Evan Dufault's fourth goal of the season.

The Tigers had the shot advantage, 13-8 and Utica held the edge in corner kicks, 4-1.

Alan Smith (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) (Lancaster, PA) took the loss, making one save for the Tigers. Andrew Miller made 10 saves for the Pioneers.

RIT will travel to Hoboken, New Jersey to face the fourth-ranked Stevens Tech Ducks on Sunday afternoon.
