Women's Swimming and Diving Falls to SUNY Fredonia

ROCHESTER, NY --
The RIT women's swimming and diving team dropped its first dual meet of the 2007-08 season, falling to SUNY Fredonia, 172-128 on Saturday afternoon at the Judson Pool at the Gordon Field House.

Kristen Curtze (Edinboro, PA/General McLane) (Edinboro, PA/General McLane) and Caitlyn Burr (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy) (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy) each won three single events to lead the way.

Curtze finished first in the 50-yard freestyle (26.08), and in the 100-yard freestyle (57.19) and 200-freestyle (2:04.99).

Burr took first place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.05, winning by nearly five seconds.  She also won the 200-butterfly in 2:14.72 by 12 seconds and 200-yard individual medley by nine seconds with a time of 2:16.64.

The Tigers are back in action on Tuesday, as they travel to SUNY Oswego to compete against the Lakers at 6 p.m.
