ROCHESTER, NY - Phil Proud scored with two seconds left in regulation, as the University of Rochester Yellowjackets (7-3-1) handed the RIT men's soccer team (7-3-1) a heartbreaking 3-2 loss in non-conference action at Fauver Stadium on Tuesday night.

Proud headed in a cross to the front of the RIT net by Matt Sulkin, right before time expired.

RIT took a 2-1 lead in the 55th minute, as Daniel Holowaty (Strongsville, OH/St. Ignatious) (Strongsville, OH/St. Ignatious) finished off a nifty passing play for his second goal in two games.  Allen Nicholson (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg) (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg) fired a low pass from the right side, that Chuck Marion (Syracuse, NY/Westhill) (Syracuse, NY/Westhill) one-touched over to Holowaty.  Holowaty then ripped a low shot past Rochester goalkeeper Michael Peacock.

U of R rallied to put pressure on the Tiger defense, but could not break.  Unfortunately for RIT, a controversial handball call inside the penalty area gave the Yellowjackets a penalty kick with just over five minutes left in regulation.  Matt Sulkin scored on the penalty kick to tie the game at 2.

The Tigers opened the scoring in the 36th minute, as Marion redirected a cross from Andrew Ong (Phuket, Thailand/ISKL) (Phuket, Thailand/ISKL) off of a free kick.

U of R came right back, getting a goal right before halftime off a free kick of their own.

The loss snapped a three-match winning streak for the Tigers.

U of R out-shot RIT 22-11.

Alan Smith (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) made five saves for RIT.  Peacock stopped five shots for Rochester.

The Tigers are back in action on Saturday, as they travel to play Utica College in an Empire 8 match beginning at 1 p.m.
