ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT women's soccer team downed Alfred University, 6-1 in Empire 8 action on Wednesday afternoon. Krystal Adriaansen (Marion, NY/Marion) (Marion, NY) and Emily Traversi (Acton, MA/Acton-Boxborough) (Acton, MA) paced the Tigers offense. Adriaansen had a goal and three assists, while Traversi had a goal and two assists.

It took RIT 1:28 to get on the board on a long shot from outside the penalty area by Adriaansen. After Graham tied the score at 1-1 Traversi struck in the 16th minute on an assist from Adriaansen. Danielle Painter (Mililani, HI/Mililani) (Mililani, HI) made it 3-1 in the 39th minute on an assist from Traversi.

Alyssa Barnes (East Hampstead, NH/Pinkerton Academy) (E. Hampstead, NH), Amanda Sisti (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) (Horseheads, NY) and Nicole LaDue (Mechanicsville, MD/Chopticon) (Mechanicsville, MD) all scored for the Tigers in the second half.

Barnes scored in the 61st minute on assists from Traversi and Kristen Denninger (Rochester, NY/Nazareth Academy) (Rochester, NY), making it 4-1.

Sisti took a beautiful cross from Adriaansen and scored her second goal of the season in the 81st minute.

LaDue rounded out the scoring in th 87th minute on assists from Denninger and Adriaansen.

RIT out shot Alfred 37-4. Heather Moe (Chesapeake Beach, MD/Calvert) picked up the win, making one save.

The Tigers, now 7-5-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the Empire 8, will St. John Fisher on Saturday afternoon at 1 pm in Pittsford, New York.
