ROCHESTER
, NYThe RIT women's soccer team (6-5-2) played #5 William Smith extremely tough, but fell to the Herons by a score of 2-0 on a cool and windy Saturday afternoon at RIT Field.

Brelynn Nasypany scored the lone goal of the first half in the 12th minute, as she picked up a loose ball just outside the box and slid a low shot under a sliding Heather Moe (Chesapeake Beach, MD/Calvert) (Chesapeake Beach, MD/Calvert).   The goal was Nasypany's ninth of the season.

Erica Main (Chittenango, NY/Chittenango) (Chittenango, NY/Chittenango) had RIT's best chance in the first half, as her lob shot from about 25-yards out went over the William Smith goalkeeper, but clanged off the right post.

William Smith showed why they have not lost in 2007, clamping down on defense, controlling the midfield and out-shooting the Tigers 9-3.  The Herons are now 12-0-1 this season.

Laura Burnett-Kurie added an insurance goal in the 69th minute, as she took a pass from Julia Bernay, went around Moe and slid a shot into the open net for her sixth tally of the season.
