Men's Indoor Track and Field Finish Third at St. Lawrence Invitational

CANTON, NY - The RIT men's indoor track and field team finished third out of eight teams at the 2007 St. Lawrence Invitational with a team score of 64 points on Saturday afternoon.

Andrew Varble (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) won a race for the third straight week, taking the 1,000-meter run in a time of 2:34.17.

Antonio Torrence (/) won the 55-meter hurdles in 8:05.

Nick Lowe (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) was second in the 3,000-meter run in 9:00.30. 

Mike Herb (Malden-on-Hudson, NY/Saugerties) (Malden-on-Hudson, NY/Saugerties) and Dave Falcinelli (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) finished 1-2 in the pole vault.  Herb had a high leap of 4.52 meters, while Falcinelli eclipsed 4.37 meters.

The distance relay team of Varble, Lowe, Marc O'Donnell (/) (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy) and Kirk Richards (/) was second in 10:32.44.

The Tigers are back in action on Friday, as they host a 10-team meet at the Gordon Field House that begins at 4 p.m.
