Rochester, NY - The RIT women's tennis team had their home opener against SUNY Brockport. The Tigers defeated the Golden Eagles 8-1 and start off their season 1-0.

The Tigers swept in doubles with wins from first doubles team of Brianne Francisco (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) and Leigh Bryson (Wallingford, CT/Mark T. Sheehan) (Wallingford, CT/Mark T. Sheehan), second doubles team of Kseniya Klyachko (Utica, NY/Whitesboro) (Utica, NY/Whitesboro) and Caroline Caliet, and third doubles team of JoJo Cash (Rochester, NY/Brighton) and Sara Paduano (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda).

In singles, Francisco, Calliet, Klychko, Paduano, and Cash all won their singles matches at first, second, fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively.

The Tigers travel to LeMoyne on Saturday and then to Hartwick on Sunday. They will return home on Tuesday when they host the Cortland Red Dragons at 4 pm.
