Women's Soccer Earns Tie Against Buffalo State

BUFFALO, NY -
The RIT women's soccer team (0-2-1) played in its first road game of the season and salvaged a 1-1 tie against Buffalo State College on Tuesday afternoon.

Anna Kolnik (Sharon, WI/Big Foot) (Sharon, WI/Big Foot) scored RIT's lone goal of the day, converting on a feed from Jacqueline Bruckel (Geneseo, NY/Geneseo) (Geneseo, NY/Geneseo) to tie the game at 1 in the 49th minute.

Buffalo State took a 1-0 lead into halftime, as Vicky Wagner scored in the 42nd minute on an assist from Julia Spack.

RIT out-shot Buffalo State 16-12. Heather Moe (Chesapeake Beach, MD/Calvert) (Cheaspeake Beach, MD/Calvert) made six saves for RIT. Katie Melfert stopped eight shots for the Bengals (0-1-2).

The Tigers are back in action on Saturday, as they host Clarkson University at RIT Field at 3:30 p.m.
