Women's Soccer Improves to 3-0 in Empire 8 Play After Defeating Alfred

Kristal Adriaansen scored her first collegiate goal on Thursday as RIT improved to 3-0-0 in the Empire 8 versus Alfred.

ALFRED, NY -
  The RIT women's soccer team (3-4-2, 3-0-0 Empire 8) won their third straight Empire 8 contest, scoring two second half goals to defeat Alfred University (1-9-0, 0-3-0 Empire 8) on a cold and rainy Thursday evening.

Sophomore Krystal Adriaansen (Marion, NY/Marion) (Marion, NY/Marion) netted her first collegiate goal early in the second half to put RIT on top 1-0. Less than three minutes later RIT received an insurance goal from junior Anna Kolnik (Sharon, WI/Big Foot) (Sharon, WI/Big Foot).  The goal was Kolnik's team-leading third tally of the season.

Ashley Conti (Canfield, OH/Canfield) (Canfield, OH/Canfield) played the first 81:28 contributing one save before being replaced by Heather Moe (Chesapeake Beach, MD/Calvert) (Chesapeake Beach, MD/Calvert).  Rebecca Posiask made six saves in goal for the Saxons.

The Tigers out-shot Alfred 15-4, including 8-0 over the first 45 minutes of play.

RIT is back in action on Saturday, as they host SUNY Potsdam at RIT Field at 2:30 p.m.
