ALFRED, NY - Head Coach
Roger Worsley picked up his 150th win at the helm of the Tigers, as RIT volleyball team (13-6, 1-0 Empire 8) opened up Empire 8 play with a 30-18, 30-15, 30-23 win over host Alfred university on Tuesday evening.
Worsley, now in his sixth season with the Tigers, is 150-68. He is just seven wins out of second place in all-time volleyball coaching wins at RIT and 20 away from the all-time lead.
Sophomore setter Nichole Boxler (Varysburg, NY/Attica) (Varysburg, NY/Attica) led RIT with 27 assists and four service aces. Jessica Schaffer (Wellington, OH/Keystone) (Wellington, OH/Keystone) recorded 14 kills, while Kate Gleason (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) compiled 14 digs in the win for RIT.
RIT is back in action on Saturday, as they play Capital University and Nazareth College at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. respectively, in the Nazareth tri-match.
