ROCHESTER, NY -- Judah Manetta's goal 27 seconds into the overtime gave SUNY Geneseo (1-1-0) a 1-0 win over host RIT (0-2-0) in the night cap of the 3rd annual Doug May Memorial Soccer Classic.

On a cold, windy and rainy evening at RIT's Turf  Field both battled the elements to generate scoring chances.

RIT had seven first-half shots, generating some good early chances. Geneseo goalkeeper Adam McMahon made some solid saves, keeping the Tigers off the scoreboard.

RIT's Chris Rouland (Center Valley, PA/Southern Lehigh) (Center Valley PA) made five saves in the first half as the Knights put on  surge late in the first half.

RIT had several chances in the second half. Endri Kita (Albany, NY/Albany) (Albany, NY/Albany) had a golden opportunity late in the half but his shot was smothered by McMahon. Chris Somers (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) hit a rifle from just outside the penalty area but the shot sailed over the cross bar.

Just as the overtime session began Manetta ripped a shot from just about 22 yards out that just made over an outstretched Rouland, giving the Knights a 1-0 victory.

The Tigers travel to Hobart College on Thursday, September 7 beginning at 4:30 pm.
