Click For BoxscoreCANTON, NY -- The RIT men's soccer team was shutout by St. Lawrence University 3-0 on Friday afternoon. The loss drops RIT to 0-4-1 on the season and St. Lawrence improves to 2-2-1.
St. Lawrence struck early in the first half on an unassisted goal by Ryan Moore in the 20th minute. James Merrill scored in the 30th and the 89th minutes for the Saints.
RIT had13 total shots, four of which went on net.
Geoff Schmidt (Wooster, OH/Wooster) (Wooster, OH/Wooster), Andrew Ong (Phuket, Thailand/SKL) (Phuket, Thailand, SKL), Franz Orban (Lima, Peru/Peruano Britanico) (Lima, Peru/Peruano Britanico) and
Dwight Cooke (Castleton, NY/Maple Hill)(Castleton, NY/Maple Hill) each had a shot on net.
Alan Smith (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) got the start in goal for RIT. The freshman keeper made five saves, allowing three goals.
RIT will face Clarkson University on Saturday afternoon at 2 pm in Potsdam, New York.
