ROCHESTER, NY -
The RIT softball team (16-22) dropped a pair of home contests to SUNY Brockport on Friday afternoon, 5-3 in game one and 9-0 in six innings in game two.  The Tigers celebrated Senior day, as Heidi Schille (Lake George, NY/Lake George) (Lake George, NY/Lake George) and Caitlin Krumm (Buffalo, NY/Williamsville North) (Buffalo, NY/Williamsville North) were honored between games.

In game one, the Golden Eagles scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie and get the win.  With two outs, Sarah Wlodarczyk tripled into the right field corner and Rachel Maxon drove her in with a hard single to left field.  A RIT error scored Maxon to provide the difference.

Maxon was 2-for-3 with the game-winning RBI.  Kalie Peters and Ashley Broadhurst were 2-for-4 each for Brockport, who improved to 26-12.

RIT trailed 3-1 in the fourth until sophomore Stephanie Nailos (Pittsfield, MA/Taconic) (Pittsfield, MA/Taconic) drilled her first collegiate home run, a two-run blast over the center field fence to tie the game at 3.  Nailos was 2-for-3 in game one.

Junior Josa Hanzlik (Fairport, NY/Fairport) (Fairport, NY/Fairport) was 3-for-3 with a run scored and RBI double.

Tarah Wetherby picked up the win on the mound for SUNY Brockport, pitching a complete-game eight hitter.

The Golden Eagles ripped 16 hits in game two en route to the win.

Lindsay Szymanski was 3-for-3, while Amie Chase went 2-for-2 with a double and three RBI.  Courtney Turchan, Broadhurst, Peters and Maxon had two hits apiece in the victory.

Amanda Taylor threw a complete-game six hitter with two strikeouts to pick up the win on the mound for the Golden Eagles.

Nailos continued her hot hitting, going 2-for-2.  Shila Wells (Underhill, VT/Essex) (Underhill, VT/Essex) also was 2-for-2 in the loss for RIT.

RIT concludes its 2006 regular season, as they travel to SUNY Geneseo to play the Knights in a doubleheader at 1 p.m.
