KEUKA PARK, NY - The RIT softball team (16-10, 4-8 Empire 8) split a pair of games versus Keuka College on Tuesday afternoon, losing game one 4-3 and rebounding to take game two by a scored of 3-1.
The Tigers trailed 2-0 before scoring two runs in the fourth and on in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead. Keuka tied the game in the bottom of the fifth and then won it it in the bottom of the seventh.
Allison Ingalls (Cuba, NY/Cuba) (Cuba, NY/Cuba-Rushford) was 2-for-3 in game one for RIT.
In game two, freshman Shila Wells (Underhill, VT/Essex) (Underhill, VT/Essex) picked up the win, allowing just one run en route to the complete-game victory. She also had two hits.
Seniors Heidi Schille (Lake George, NY/Lake George) (Lake George, NY/Lake George) and Caitlin Krumm (Buffalo, NY/Williamsville North) (Buffalo, NY/Williamsville North) provided the offense, as Schille hit a double and scored twice, while Krumm chipped with a double, RBI and run scored.
Jenna Mausolf (Hudson, NY/Hudson) (Hudson, NY/Hudson) had two hits and a RBI, while Katie Grenga (Syracuse, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) (Syracuse, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) had two hits.
RIT is back in action on Friday, as they will celebrate Senior Day with a home doubleheader against SUNY Brockport. First pitch is at 3 p.m.
