ROCHESTER, NY -
The RIT softball scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally from a 1-0 deficit and defeat the University of Rochester 2-1 in game two of a doubleheader on a sunny Thursday afternoon at RIT Field.  U of R won game one 12-0 in six innings.

Down 1-0 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, Katie Grenga (Syracuse, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) (Syracuse, NY/C.B.A.) led off with a single.  Breana Sniezek (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg) (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg) followed with a single.  Heidi Schille (Lake George, NY/Lake George) (Lake George, NY/Lake George) beat out a sacrifice bunt attempt to load the bases with no outs.

With one out, Josa Hanzlik (Fairport, NY/Fairport) (Fairport, NY/Fairport) hit a ground ball that slipped under the second basemen's glove to tie the game.  Sniezek, however was thrown out at the plate trying to score the winning run.

That set the stage for Stephanie Nailos (Pittsfield, MA/Taconic)' (Pittsfield, MA/Taconic) hard shot that glanced off the second baseman and into right field.  Schille raced home from second to score the winning run and lift the Tigers to the win.

Mary Keegan (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) picked up the win for RIT, allowing just three hits and a run over seven strong innings, while striking out four.

In game one, U of R's Jena Robertson threw a complete-game two-hitter and was 4-for-5 at the plate with a pair of doubles.  Beth Ameno and Laura Rubinchuck each had multiple-hit games, while scoring and driving a pair of runs.

RIT is right back in action on Friday, as they travel to play Hartwick College in an Empire 8 doubleheader at 4:30 p.m.
