Softball Drops Pair to Ithaca on Tuesday

ITHACA, NY - The RIT softball team (13-15, 3-7 Empire 8) dropped a pair of conference games on Tuesday afternoon to #3 Ithaca College (30-2, 12-0 Empire 8) 13-0 in five innings and 6-0.

The Bombers scored nine runs in the second inning of game one.  The Tigers could muster only one hit, a single by Jenna Mausolf (Hudson, NY/Hudson) (Hudson, NY/Hudson).

In game two, Josa Hanzlik (Fairport, NY/Fairport) (Fairport, NY/Fairport) and Allison Ingalls (Cuba, NY/Cuba) (Cuba, NY/Cuba-Rushford) had hits for RIT.  Mary Keegan (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) pitched 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.

The Bombers have now won a school-record 18-consecutive games and are one win shy of their total from last season, including playoffs. The Bombers allowed only six runs to Empire 8 opponents and had eight shutouts.  

RIT is back in action on Thursday, as they host the University of Rochester in a doubleheader at RIT FIeld.  The twin-bill begins at 3 p.m.
