ITHACA, NY -
The RIT women's indoor track and field squad competed at the Kane invitational, hosted by Cornell University on Saturday afternoon.

Despite competing against Cornell, a Division I University and Canadian universities, the team more than held its own.

Trisha Sliker (Albion, NY/Albion) (Albion, NY) and Sara Pancoast (Stratford, CT/Bunnell) (Bunnell, CT) finished fifth and seventh in the 5,000-meter dash to start the afternoon.  LeKeisha Perez (Buffalo, NY) finished fourth in the 60-meter dash.

Danielle Simmons (Brewertown, NY/Brewertown) (Brewertown, NY) had RIT's best finish of the day, a second place showing in the 500-meter dash, finishing with a time of 1:16.95.

The 4 x 800-meter relay team placed second as well.

The squad will be back at Cornell on Saturday, as they compete in the Denault invitational.
