Women's Swimming and Diving Falls To University of Rochester

ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT women's swimming and diving team dropped a 143-97 decision at the University of Rochester on Saturday afternoon.

The day started out strong for the Tigersharks, as Teresa Burr (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy) (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy), Caitlyn Burr (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy) (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy), Melissa Ashby (St. George's, Grenada/Westmoreland) (St. George's, Grenada/Westmoreland) and Kristen Curtze (Edinboro, PA/General McLane) (Edinboro, PA/General McLane) combined to win the 200-yard medley relay in 1:57.97.

Teresa Burr (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy) also won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:22.27 and the 100-yard backstroke in 1:04.04.

Caitlyn Burr (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy) was RIT's other lone winner of the day, taking the 100-yard butterfly in 1:00.87.

Stefanie Owczarczak (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca) (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca), Angie Palomaki (Victor, NY/Victor), Perry Young (Weston, CT/Weston) (Weston, CT/Weston) and Jenn Whigham (Hilton, NY/Hilton) (Hilton, NY/Hilton) won the 200-yard freestyle relay.

The Tigers are back in action on January 13, 2007, as they travel to Utica to swim against the Pioneers.
