ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's basketball team kicked off the 2006-07 campaign with an exhibition game versus George Brown College of Canada. The Tigers downed the Huskies 87-61. Barrett Zeinfeld (Tucson, AZ/Catalina Foothills) (Tucson, AZ) led the Tigers with 24 points.

RIT led 38-27 at the half thanks to Zeinfeld's 17 points. The Tigers shot 48.4% as a team from the floor in the first half on 15-of-31 shooting. RIT held George Brown to 27.3% shooting in the first half on 9-of-33 shooting from the floor.

RIT opened up the gap in the second half, outscoring the Huskies 49-34. Freshman Kenny Gethers (Syracuse, NY/Bishop Grimes) (Syracuse, NY) added 14 points and eight rebounds.

Rob Hampton (Ocala, FL/Belleview) (Ocala, FL) and Tim Bacon (Massena. NY/Massena) (Massena, NY) scored 12 and 11 points respectively and Colin Roy (Malta, NY/Ballston Spa) dished out eight assists.

RIT opens the regular season on Tuesday, November 28 at D'Youville.
