ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's swimming and diving teams fell to SUNY Oswego on Wednesday night at the Judson Pool. The finals was Oswego 128 and RIT 114. The loss drops the Tigers to 1-2 in dual meets this season.
The Tigers got the evening started on the right foot with a win in the 400-yard medley relay. The team of Adam Luptak (Idaho Falls, ID/Skyline) (Idaho Falls, IA/Skyline), Chris Walczyk (Hodesett, NH/) (Hodessett, NH), Matt Jenkins (Springfield, MA/Springfield) (Springfield, MA/Springfield) and Pete Kaemmerlen (Fairport, NY/Fairport) (Fairport, NY/Fairport) came home first with a time of 3:50.07.
Phil Baudoin (Blacksburg, VA/Blacksburg) (Blacksburg, VA/Blacksburg) earned RIT nine more points in the 200-yd. freestyle with his victory. He won the event in a time of 1:49.86. Eric Albers (Bath, NY/Bath-Haverling) (Bath, NY/Bath-Haverling) was third with a time of 1:56.36.
Pete Kaemmerlen (Fairport, NY/Fairport) won the 200-yd. IM in a time of 2:06.88. Adam Luptak (Idaho Falls, ID/Skyline) was third in the event with a time of 2:10.90.
Luptak went on to win the 200-yd. butterfly with a time of 2:02.99. Matt Jenkins (Springfield, MA/Springfield) placed second with a time of 2:05.19.
Quinn Donahoe (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) placed second in both the one-meter and three-meter boards with scores of 287.75 and 272.10 respectively.
Steve Berus (E. Amherst, NY/Williamsville North) won RIT nine more points in the 200-yd. breaststroke. He placed first in the event with a time of 2:24.07. Chris Walczyk (Hodesett, NH/) was third with a time of 2:26.01.
The Tigersharks are back in action next Saturday, November 11 when they host St. Lawrence University at 1 pm in the Judson Pool.
