Click For BoxscoreROCHESTER, NY – Six different Tigers scored goals as RIT defeated St. Clair College in an exhibition game this evening at Ritter Arena.
Brent Patry (Ottawa, ON/Cumberland Grads) (Ottawa, ON) and
Al Mazur (Burnaby, BC/Langley Hornets) (Burnaby, BC) each had a goal and an assist for the Tigers.
RIT took control of the game right from the opening face-off. Anton Kharin (Moscow, Russia/Bay State Breakers) (Twins Lake, MI) gave RIT a 1-0 lead at 5:12 of the first period on a power play goal from Darrell Draper (Tigard, OR/Cowichon Capitals) (Tigard, OR) and Brennan Sarazin (Nepean, ON/Nepean Raiders) (Nepean, ON).
Brent Alexin (West Seneca, NY/Buffalo Jr. Sabres) made it 2-0 at 14:45 on assists from Matt Crowell (Kelowna, BC/Williams Lake Timberwolves) (Kelowna, BC) and Jocelyn Guimond (Quebec City, PQ/Williams Lake) (Quebec City, PQ). Crowell sent Alexin in on a partial breakaway and he scored on a move past the St. Clair goalie.
Al Mazur (Burnaby, BC/Langley Hornets) gave the Tigers a 3-0 lead with a deflected shot from the point. Stevan Matic (Burnaby, BC/Langley Hornets) (Burnaby, BC) fed Mazur and he ripped a shot that ricocheted over T.J. Aceti’s shoulder.
Ricky Walton (Hamilton, ON/Hamilton Red Wings) (Hamilton, ON) rounded out the scoring in the first period. He gathered in a rebound off a Brent Patry (Ottawa, ON/Cumberland Grads) shot and shot the puck into the open net, giving RIT a 4-0 lead.
The Tigers took a 5-0 lead just 35 seconds into the second period. Brent Patry (Ottawa, ON/Cumberland Grads) scored on an assist from Al Mazur (Burnaby, BC/Langley Hornets) and Darrell Draper (Tigard, OR/Cowichon Capitals).
Kyle Trudell cut RIT’s lead to 5-1 at 3:20 of the second on an assist from Lane Moodie.
Jesse Newman (Westbank, BC/Trail Smoke Easters) (Westbank, BC) completed the scoring at 9:53 of the third on assists from Alexin and Ringwald.
RIT out shot the Saints 47-22 and went 2-for-7 on the power play. Jocelyn Guimond (Quebec City, PQ/Williams Lake) got the start and played the first period, making five saves. Jared DeMichiel (Avon, CT/Chicago Steel) (Avon, VT) played the second and third periods, making 16 saves and allowing one goal.
