ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT (4-5-3, 3-1-1 E8) women’s soccer team fell to Empire 8 foe Ithaca College (8-2-1, 5-0-0 E8), 3-0 on gorgeous Saturday afternoon at RIT Field.

Ithaca took a 1-0 lead in the early portion of the first half. Chelsey Feldman worked her toward the touch-line and fed a nice low cross that Ashey Williams ran onto and drilled into the back of the net.

The Bombers made it 2-0 on a turnover by RIT inside their own penalty area. Chelsey Feldman corralled an RIT failed clear and drilled a shot past RIT keeper Ashley Conti (Canfield, OH/Canfield) (Canfield, OH/Canfield).

RIT’s best chance came with 12:30 remaining in the first half. Stephanie Servetas (Dover, NH/Dover) (Dover, NH/Dover) fired a long shot from the wing that fooled Ithaca keeper Aimee Meacham. The ball went through her hands, off the post and right to Emily Traversi (Acton, MA/Acton-Boxborough) (Acton, MA/Acton-Boxborough). Her header was saved off the line by an Ithaca defender.

Ithaca outshot the Tigers, 5-2 in the first half. Ashley Conti (Canfield, OH/Canfield) made one save in the opening had, allowing two goals. Aimee Meacham made one save as well.

Melanie Bryant (Lancaster, NY/Sacred Heart) had a good chance early in the second half. Making a run down the left flank, she flipped a shot that just cleared the cross bar.

Ithaca notched their third goal midway through the second half. Ashley Williams tallied her second of the afternoon on an assist from Colleen Masterson.

Ithaca had 12 shots on Saturday as Ashley Conti (Canfield, OH/Canfield) finished with four saves. The Tigers had four shots as Aimee Meacham made a save and Rebecca Pamese had a save.
